Love stories Wedding frame

This is a photo frame I decorated for one of the girl's who works in our salon, she said she didn't want any present's, but you cant go to a wedding and not take a present can you and it gave me an excuse to buy the simply scrapin kit, which I think is amazing, I just have to take a great picture at her wedding tommorow print it and stick it on the white matt then give it to her at the evening do.

Sorry the photo isn't very clear I couldn't stop the light making reflections on the glass.

I cut some certainly celery card to 12" x 10" to fit the frame, cut a 3" strip of the close to cocoa dsp from the scrap kit, drew around a plate on pretty in pink dsp from kitthen cut it out, used my corner rounder with the guard of to make the scallop egde around the dsp circle in whisper white paper, used one of the self adhesive edge strips from the kit, cut a matt from textured white card, made a knot in Whisper white Taffeta ribbon and 5/8" certainly celery grosgrain ribbon using Abi's tutorial, I also used the self adhesive sentiment "Happieness is made from moments like these" from the kit, finally I used Stazon Opaque white to stamp the large rose and leaf from A rose is a rose stamp set onto the inside of the glass so it won't come of even when she cleans the glass.
I really like the way this turned out and wish I'd had time to make one when my sister got married last Summer although I don't think I had been introduced to Stampin' Up! products then.
Hopefully I'll get time tonight to make matching candle's and a box for them, if I do I'll put them on here.
This also sorts out her christmas present as I'll use the same kit and photo's taken at the wedding to make her a mini album.

Tri Shutter card

This weeks Try a new technique challenge at Splitcoaststampers is to make a Tri shutter card so here's my try at it. I folded out where I should have folded in so it's different to how it should have been, I wrote the basic instructions down then tried making it in the evening without being able to use the computer to check I was making it right but I like how it turned out.

I used Certainly celery 12" x 5 1/2" card, scored at 2", 4", 8" & 10" then folded the middle at the 2", 4", 8" & 10" score's and the top and bottom at the 4" & 8" scores I should have folded the middle at 4&8 and top and bottom at 2,4,8&10.

I cut designer paper from the Rainbow Sherbet pack to decorate the card and spot on stamps with versamark ink on the rest of the card.

I stamped a gift tag from a retired hostess stamp set which I can't remember the name of and can't be bothered to go and check lol, in tempting turquoise on whisper white card, cut it out leaving a smal white border, matted it on barly banana card then cut it out and punched a hole through the tag to put some whisper white grosgrain ribbon through and desided to staple it onto the card.

Now I need to go and make one the right way for the challenge.

Funky Friday #17

This is for Abi's funky friday challenge, I only posted last weeks this morning, now I'm putting this weeks up.

My 11 year old daughter gave me the idea for this card, when I was telling her how I loved the chocolate chip and Old olive together but couldn't work out how to add Pumpkin pie in, she said it could be the oranges in a tree.

For this card I used Old Olive, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie and Chocolate chip card, Acetate, Old olive and Chocolate Chip ink, Scallop oval and oval punches, oval all and Forest Friends stamp sets and an embossing tool and light box.

Funky Friday #16

Here's my try a little late at Abi's challenge, Sorry it's late because I had to wait for the Acetate to come in the post then had fun trying to get the right on track wheel to go on the Acetate, it took about 10 try's before I was happy that the tracks hadn't smeared to much.

I used Whisper white, Pumpkin Pie and Summer Sun card, Stazon Black, Summer sun, Pumpkin pie and basic black Inks.

Fresh cut notes

Thanks Abi for the fresh cut notes kit she gave me at Easter, I loved the look of those cards but every card I saw made with them were almost the same they may have changed the colours but how different can you make a card that already has a flower cut out of the middle, so it took me a while to think of what to do with it and I hope it's slightly different than some of the others.

I used the big square fresh note stamp (which Abi had stamped for me in So Saffron), no mercilessly cut it a little smaller than the flower on the front of the card, then used my bone folder to curl the petals for added dimension, I used a little of the stripped grosgrain ribbon Abi also gave me in the kit ( I love ribbon ), I made the small flower in the middle by altering the instructions found here and held the flower on using a brad to match the ballet Blue card I had stuck behind the card front for contrast.

Now that's 1 kit only 2 more to go and this weeks challenge found here.

I have the best upline in the world she gave me a lovely kit and chocolate which was yummy.
