A pressie for Jacob

This is the blanket I knitted for my sister Sarah's new baby, I didn't know what sex the baby was so used cream and white, then she can use it for both. I don't have a picture of the card to go with it as I ran out of cards for boy babies so had to use shock horror a shop bought one that I had, had in a box for a while, everyone in my family except me seems to have boys this was my sisters third.

She had the baby while we were visiting her in Cornwall, so I got to meet my new nephew as well, that makes it 6 nephews and 1 niece oh and 3 nephews on my husbands side, now I must make some boy baby cards.

Emboss resist forest friends

I really wanted to try the emboss resist tecnique found here Splitcoaststampers.

This card isn't quite finished I havn't put a sentiment on it yet because I havn't decided who it's for the sentiment will go in the top right hand corner when I finish it.

I stamped the tree's using Chocolate chip, old olive and garden green and my blender pen, masked the tree's then stamped the deer so it looked like it was behind the tree, I then used my brayer to make the other deer, I inked the stamp with close to cocoa then roled the brayer over it to pick up the image and rolled it onto the card, I repeated this step for the rabbit using creamy caramel ink I then embossed all the tree's in clear embossing powder using my stamp-a-mi-jig and versamark ink, and used reverse masking for the deers and rabbits and embossed them like I had the tree's, finally I inked my brayer using Bashfull Blue ink for the sky and Garden green for the grass I love these tecnique's and will hopefully be using a lot more of them in the future.

I mounted the image onto chocolate chip card and whisper white card and then onto a Old olive card.

Easter Box

I made 13 of these boxes as Easter gifts for the children in my family in different colours and patterns to suit the children favourite colours, They were meant to save me money as I always think Easter Eggs are over priced for what you get but by time I had bought the goodies to fill them with I had probably spent more than the eggs would have cost lol, but I don't mind because I got to play with my stamps to make them and managed to use up some of my stash of cheap white card that I dont use now I have whisper white.

To make them I cut a sheet of A4 paper to 21cmsquare and scored it at 7 and 14 cms, cut 2 of the score's on each side to the other score lines.
Cut the left over strip to 2" to make the handle coloured the 2" piece of card using my brayer and ink and also coloured the inside of the 21cm square.
I then used the same colour ink on a wheel and coloured the outside and the thin piece for the handle.
I used my scallop edge punch for the edge of the box and the brayered handle.
folded the box made a hole for the brad to hold the box and handle together.
finaly I stamped a rabbit from forest friends on white card, cut this using my 1 1/4" circle punch, cut a gold circle with my 1 3/8" circle punch and cut a scallop circle from white card brayered in the same colour ink.

Then of I went to the shops to see which sweets I should fill them with I spent a small fortune on sweets.

Funky Friday #11

The colours this week on Abi's challenge are Pretty in pink, Pumpkin pie, Certainly celery and sage shadow.

I always struggle when there's no neutral colour so it took me a while to work out what to do this week, I also don't like orange much, this is what I came up with in the end, I saw a similar card on Splitcoaststampers, It's going to be my daughter Jasmine's birthday card, she's 8 on Easter Monday and it suits her personality.

I used card in all 4 colours, certainly celery ribbon, corner rounder punch with the guard off, chipboard butterfly, versamark ink and seeing spots and occasional greetings stamp sets.
